Wire transfer for private sale of car

I’m purchasing a car this Friday from a private seller in a different state. He requested a wire transfer which is fine and I plan on doing that when I go see the car. I opened an account with the same bank as him so the wire transfer will be faster. He says he will not sign over the title until the funds settle in his account. Is there anything I should be concerned about?

Since we are with the same bank, should the wire take long? Is there a work around? Can I call the bank ahead of time to make sure they have cash in hand and we can just move it to his account? What I want to avoid is the wire taking a business day and I’m stuck there until Monday or something. Any advice welcome.
