US $25k Gone to Scammers

A close relative got a phone call allegedly from their bank saying that an account had been compromised to the tune of $250. They were convinced somehow to eventually move $25K to a different account (controlled by the scammer). The next morning they were told they needed them to move $200k from another account to straighten it out.

Fortunately I convinced them to go to their bank right away, as it was a scam. They believed the call was from their bank because of the caller ID. The $25K is gone. Warn your friends and family; if you think your bank is calling you about a problem, either go to the bank or call their fraud department on a number you look up yourself.
