The partnership with UoL

The degree is fully accredited in the UK and carries a certain prestige, especially with the University of London name and academic direction from UCL. It’s designed for ACCA students, and on paper, it looks like a perfect match — especially for those who don’t yet have a formal bachelor’s degree.

However, the reality is that even if you’ve already passed ACCA exams like Performance Management and Financial Management, you still have to retake them as part of the program. There are no exemptions. You also have to complete an academic research project. So, while it seems tailored to ACCA students, it actually makes you repeat parts of the qualification you’ve already completed.

For someone in the middle of their ACCA journey, especially those in countries where educational opportunities are more limited, the idea of earning a UK degree online might be appealing. But unless you specifically need a bachelor’s for academic progression, it may not be the most efficient path — particularly when you’re close to qualifying. The Oxford Brookes BSc in Applied Accounting might be a better, faster, and more affordable alternative for some.

In the end, if you’re already making good progress with ACCA, your time and money might be better spent finishing the qualification and then applying directly for a master’s program. Many UK universities accept full ACCA (or even the Advanced Diploma) for MSc entry
