Tax Role and ACCA

Hi everyone!

I’m currently working in a tax role with a strong focus on financial analysis and close collaboration with the Accounting team. Over time, I’ve realized how crucial a solid understanding of financial reporting and broader business insights are – not only to improve the quality of my current work, but also to unlock new career opportunities.

I’m now seriously considering enrolling in a postgraduate ACCA-accredited program. Based on my current qualifications and experience, this would leave me with just three exams to complete before becoming an ACCA member (I already meet the practical experience requirement).

Here’s what I’m hoping to achieve with the ACCA: • Improve my ability to analyze and interpret financial statements more confidently and independently • Position myself for future managerial roles that combine tax, finance, and business strategy • Enhance my financial modelling and commercial thinking skills

I’d love to hear from anyone in tax (or similar) roles who pursued the ACCA route: Was it worth it? Would you do it again?
