Starting ACCA without AAT?

Hi all,

I’ve just finished my level 3 AAT and was planning on taking a few weeks off before starting level 4 but when I told my manager this she told me I shouldn’t waste my time with level 4 and should just go straight on to ACCA as that’s what she did.

Has anyone done this before? I worry that I would really struggle and find it way too hard having not completed my AAT. I’d also be self studying so ideally I’d want as much knowledge as possible. I’m only working as an accounts assistant so I don’t have that much experience under my belt but I’m planning on changing jobs very soon.
