Need advice/ roast me

Hey guys so I am a junior with still no summer internship(300+ apps)(not T50 school)for this year and I am stressing a little because I feel what I want it to be in is super niche(MLE in healthtech and biotech) and from the interviews I’ve gotten 2 have been for positions I really wanted and I haven’t heard back yet but def rejected(the rest where still working on the technology but in a less direct way like on the sales team not on the software team).

My current jobs feel like I am working up to it but have not been able to break into a MLE role for the healthcare/biotech side of things. I know I need those base skills anyway but feel like I need a mentor in that specific area to succeed.

This last coop feels like a one off and not a real position for me. Will prob get a Masters in ML, but need advice for what I still need to be successful and how to get where I want to be. I knew I need course knowledge, swe knowledge, and domain knowledge but not sure if I have been doing it right(mostly self taught) Will take book suggestions(started Domain Driven Design not too long ago) as well! Thanks res too so let me know formatting stuff too please.
