Hi everyone,
I was home alone with my disabled sister and niece when someone knocked on our door. I was at the back, so my sister opened the door. She then called me and told me to speak to them. I spoke to two people: a teenager (15-16) and an older man (40-50), possibly a dad, both South Asians. They said their location shows that their iPhone is inside our house.
I knew it wasn’t normal, but it was a dad and a panicked son. I decided not to let them in and they began asking questions about who was home. I told them everyone was home, and I knew then it was an attempted robbery, as I’ve heard many cases about this.
My family is Asian and we don’t invest in CCTV. Now, I’ll make my way out and get a ring bell, which should be enough. I could do this myself, but I’ll also request CCTV from my neighbours and report this to the Metropolitan Police here in London.
I need reassurance about this once more. We were robbed back in 2019 and can’t afford to be robbed again. Last time, my family never had insurance, but now we do.
