🇬🇧 Had someone try to pull the “I need money for fuel” scam on me today…do they still think this works?

Sat outside in a city centre enjoying the summer weather today, and a man starts shouting at me from a car.

His young son comes over and asks if I can help as his Dad is in a wheelchair. I say “of course” and walk over to the car.

As I get there, the Dad shakes my hand and starts telling me how he’s almost out of fuel and lost his wallet etc etc.

I just walked off and he decided to shout abuse at me (for failing to fall for his scam!).

Are people really still falling for this? I’ve seen this scam online for years!
