Answer length required

When the examiner expects ‘3-4 sentences’ do those refer to actual sentences, or screen lines?

Like does screen width or adjustable answer box affect this?

I usually like to space out my answer box but this makes my sentences look very small in comparison to when I contract the size. I really need clarification on this pls help!
