I got an angry text from somebody yesterday claiming that I had scammed him by ordering $500ish worth of stuff from Amazon with HIS credit card. He sent me a screenshot of the “Amazon order page” that had what he claimed was his address in “Shipping” and mine in the “Billing “ section.
The last 4 digits of the card used were MY card that got turned off last week because of fraud.
And if I’m the “Billing” NOT “Shipping” address how am I benefitting?
He got a little shrill with me, complaining about what a hard time he was having financially. He tried to phone call me – I did not pick up. And was texting over and over, threatening to call police til I blocked him.
Coincidentally (?) I just had to get the bank to shut off the replacement cc, which I had just activated and never actually used.
Scam?
