[US] Artist scam from Facebook?

I am an artist with a Facebook page separate from my personal page. I used to make jewelry, but I am now working in ceramics (this is relevant).

I have gotten a few requests to replicate some of my ceramic works posted on my page from strangers. Right now I am in my busy season, and any custom work requests cannot be fulfilled for a few months. Ceramics is not a fast turnaround business!

Two requests via Messenger now show the “customer” as no longer available and their end of the chat has vanished. I decided they were scams and deleted them.

Now I have a request to replicate a necklace I made years ago. I have everything I need and can complete it next week. They agreed to my price.

I’m 95% sure this is a scam. I Googled their name and got absolutely nothing?!? They, like one of my ceramic requests, were too quick to give me their full address, which feels weird.

I know enough not to take payment via apps (they mentioned CashApp). I have messaged back I will accept PayPal or credit card payment from an invoice I send via text or email, in advance.

In the slim chance this is a legit sale, did I handle this correctly to protect myself?
