[US] App says my Google is blocked and wants me to call.

So an app on my phone stops working out of nowhere and says my Google is now blocked due to reports of child porn of all things.. Never have i engaged in any kind of illegal pornography, child included..Says I have to call customer service at an (805) area code.. I would imagine Google to have a toll free number.. So when I call, it definitely doesn’t sound like it in this country.. The guy tells me that I have to open play store and download some other app.. I ask if my Google is blocked then how can I use play store.. He pauses, then hangs up.. Only that one app is not working.. All of my phone and Google apps are working just fine, except for that one app, so I deleted it.. Scam??
