[US] Is it acceptable to pay for an internship through Hirist

Hey everyone,

I recently came across a paid internship opportunity through Hirist, but there’s a catch—they’re asking me to pay in order to join the internship.

This feels a bit off to me. I understand some platforms charge for courses or mentorship, but paying to do actual work as an intern seems unusual.

Has anyone here gone through Hirist or a similar program? Is this legit or just another way to make money off job seekers? I’d appreciate any insights or personal experiences you can share.
