Guy comes to door telling us we have dents on our car and he owns a body shop and can fix.

First off, we have a no soliciting sign so rarely get people coming to the door. Most people know not to knock.

But, some guy knocks.. twice… my husband answers… He says he noticed we have dents on our car (our car is new and there are no dents). The guy said he owns his own shop… My husband cuts him off and says we don’t need his help, and shuts the door.

My husband said the guy then gets in his car and drives off… He doesn’t go to the next neighbor’s house or anything.

I’ve heard of parking lot scans where people say they’ll fix your dents. But, this is odd as there were no dents. I almost wonder if he was trying to get my husband to go outside to see the supposed dents… to either then be able break in or do something to him once outside.

Any idea what this could be about or how they would possibly be trying to scam us?
