I almost got my TikTok account stolen.

An account that I (previously) followed had messaged me after following me back on tiktok. They asked if I could vote for them in an art contest, and to make it short, I needed to send an email to someone and send them the code I would receive in a follow-up email. The person’s email was very sketchy and after I received the email (in the photos) I turned them down and did not send the code.

The person basically said, “make sure your email is the same as the one on your account, and then you need to send the code so they can verify that you’re voting from tiktok.”

It was even sketchier because they wanted me to send the code to them, and I never received any email from that “person” I had sent my vote email to, just a TikTok email.

Honestly just thinking about it now makes me want to facepalm myself. IT WAS SO OBVIOUS. My common sense kicked in at the right moment thankfully.
