A month ago, I was scammed by an Amazon seller who supposedly sold me a Ryzen processor. The scammer used a very common method: a China Post tracking bot to simulate the trajectory of my package until it was finally delivered.
One day after the purchase, Amazon notified me that the seller was no longer active with them. If there was a problem, I should let them know for a possible refund. When I called to notify them that the package hadn’t arrived, they told me I’d lost my money. Unfortunately, my package said « delivered, » and that’s why the refund wouldn’t apply. I should complain to the carrier, even though I explained that it was a fraudulent tracking attempt.
Thank God, I won the case by calling the bank to report what happened. First, I filed a police report against the Amazon seller, including their nickname, what happened, and Amazon’s statements telling me they weren’t active and that they could resolve the issue. Second, I took screenshots with the tracking number for USPS, UPS, FedEx, and carriers in my city to make sure they understood the tracking number was fake and couldn’t be found. Third, I took screenshots of other scammed people in the comments section for the seller. Third, I took screenshots of the fraudulent China Post tracking, which only included the zip code, not my full address. Once this was done, I took the four aforementioned elements and attached them to the dispute with my bank. I finally won. My recommendation is to do this quickly and not let time pass.
